A combination padlock, very good item. Could be used for your gym locker or possibly for your son or daughter at school. No key to be lost, all they’ve got to do is remember the 4 digit code. One of the questions I do get is, “”how do I set the combination on my lock?””

They all come from the factory with a default 0000. If I just change those codes here, all the wheels here are in line, 0000. The shackle comes up. To set the lock you turn the shackle, which is the hooped chrome part, until the little tag on the bottom of the shackle goes in the slot at 90 degrees. You hold it down – you must hold it down – because it’s spring loaded.

If you now set the code to 1234, release the shackle and bring it round it will now go into the lock. You can tumble the dials up again and it’s locked. If I now set it to my new code, 1234, voila, it’s opened. (And you can set it to any combination you like but you do have to remember it!)
