Hi Ann, once the head has been screwed onto the end of the telescopic pole, the only other adjustment is to increase or decrease the length of the pole. The window cleaning head has two functions – the cleaning pad end can be wetted in a bowl of water containing a small amount of washing-up liquid and used to clean the windows, then the squeegee head can be used in vertical strokes to wipe the glass clean, leaving it streak free. The poles are adjusted for length by turning each pole opposite to each other, so holding and rotavating the pole in your left hand anticlockwise whilst rotating the pole above it clockwise until the desired length is achieved; then reverse the action to lock the poles together, so clockwise for the pole in your left hand and anti-clockwise for the pole above it. For ground floor windows, conservatory or greenhouses, you can remove the washing head completely and hold it in your hand. Hopefully the above all makes sense?
