When drilling a hole or prepping what speed should the dial be on?

Hi Annie, the answer to your question depends on 2 factors – the material you are drilling into and secondly the size of the drill. If the hole is over 6mm I would advise that you drill a pilot hole first if drilling into wood, metal or even masonry. The dial setting you refer to controls the drill’s torque when using the screw driver function and for drilling you should be on the drill symbol. The speed of the drill is controlled by the acceleration trigger and you should start off slowly then increase the speed as the drill progresses through the material – I trust that this assists you?
