Thank you for your question.

Please press the metal tab inwards (with the spring near the handle) and pull the metal bar with a loop on the end that runs through the metal tab backwards.

This should enable use of the caulk to be inserted into the gun. Each pump of the trigger will move the caulk forward once fitted. I have attached a video
