Good morning Julie, a good question to ask.

The 2000W electric weed burner is effective in ensuring that the weeds roots are preventing from regrowing as the heat will penetrate down to the root and destroy it. You do not need to set the weed alight, but by keeping the end of the weed burner 50-75mm above the weed you should start to see it wither and smoulder and collapse after a short while.

The weed burner is basically a 2000W hot-air gun that you would use for stripping paint/ thawing pipes etc, but with an extended handle on. With the aluminum handle removed, it could also be used for these purposes too.

Ideal for feeds between paving slabs, on gravel pathways and block paving.  Not suitable for use if weeds have appeared through tarmac due to the heat produced could melt it.

Keep away from flammable/ plastic ~ wooden surfaces (lawn edging/ plant pots/ rainwater down pipes) and allow to cool down fully before touching the tip or storing away after use. I trust this is of assistance?
