I have an Amtech sharpening stone. Do you recommend using any sort of fluid/lubricant when using it?

Martin from Hughes

says

Hi Martin, if you have our double sided carborundum stone stock code E2000, you should use thin oil similar to 3 in 1. Over time, the stone will absorb the oil and will lubricate the stone without need to add additional oil. For diamond sharpening stones, you would use water.
